How to Hold the Light
You are Wick, a tiny candle spirit. The sun has set and the Gloom has woken. Survive until dawn — and if you can, put an end to what hunts you.
WASD
Move. Arrow keys or a gamepad stick work too. Your flame fires on its own at the nearest shadow.
Space
Dash. A burst of speed with a moment of invulnerability. Slip through the swarm.
E
Flare. Unleash a nova of light that burns everything nearby and snuffs enemy shots. Slow to recharge.
Esc
Pause. Take a breath, adjust the volume, or give up the night.
Your flame is your health and your light. When it shrinks, the dark creeps closer.
Banished shadows drop sparks. Gather them to grow and choose new flames and blessings.
Wax hearts restore your flame. Moon charms pull every spark to you. Ember caches grant a free blessing.
A full night lasts about eight minutes — and something enormous will rise before the dawn does.
Embers you earn are kept at The Hearth to make Wick stronger for the next night.
